Message From the Publisher

Welcome to The College World Reporter website. Our mission is to empower college and university students everywhere to make the transition from being students to becoming successful career professionals.
Our website includes the work of our outstanding volunteer advisors, who empower readers by sharing their advice and experience on a variety of subjects, including career planning, building a professional image, effectively managing student loan debt, building wealth and making money work for you instead of working a lifetime with nothing to show for it, tips on health and fitness, advice on personal safety and security, civil law, business and entrepreneurship, as well as news and information about student life from the student's perspective.
Because we believe very strongly in racial and gender diversity we established "Connecting Worlds," which is a recurring feature in The College World Reporter that takes readers inside practically every major ethnic group in America, and helps readers to understand what it is like being an American from a different culture.
We also want to be a catalyst in bringing the people of the world closer together and we feel that process begins with educating our young people about the cultures of the world they live in, so we established The College World Reporter Virtual Cultural XChange. This program brings students from Brazil, China, Nigeria, Kazakjstan, and the United States together to exchange information about their cultures, and hopefully become ambassadors who will share what they are learning with others in their country so that they get to know each other better from the experience.
Our website is also the home of our reading for success initiative, "It's A Reader's World," which is a work in progress that focuses not just on reading, but learning to master the specific reading comprehension and vocabulary skills that are required for success in today's global marketplace, and the world of the future.
The programs of The College World Reporter are funded by donations from concerned individuals and if you would like to be a Friend of The CWR get your FREE subscription today by clicking on the "Join The CWR Movement" button below, and completing the subscription form.

Look Upon A Little Child
By Attorney Jermaine A. Wyrick, J.D.

The crux of the controversy is how to handle the interrogation of a child as compared to an adult. Specifically, whether the age of a child subjected to police questioning is relevant to the custody analysis of Miranda v. Arizona, 384 U.S. 436 (1966) where the United States Supreme Court held police must inform individuals who are in custody of their right to an attorney before interrogation.
